How to Dispose of Unneeded Meds

Bottle of prescription medicine on its side with pills

Often, medicines are kept past their intended use period. This extended storage of prescription drugs can have unintended negative consequences, including accidental poisoning, misuse, and overdose. To help address this public health issue, DEA launched National Take Back Day, an event that occurs twice a year throughout the country where you can dispose of unneeded prescription medications.

Additionally, DEA recommends these Controlled Substance Public Disposal Locations where you can safely dispose of prescription medications any time of year.
